Missing Persons

I recently picked up Missing 411, David Paulides' fascinating look into inexplicable disappearances in wilderness areas. And I really do mean inexplicable. Two and three year old kids found miles from where they were last seen, missing clothing but in perfect health. People who disappear and are later recovered, in the form of bone fragments. Weird associations with water, missing or torn clothes and missing memories. I could probably go into a full article on these, but it'd be a waste of time. What I will do is bring up a few of my own ideas on the subject.
Missing persons clusters in nat'l parks

First off, there's got to be some kind of correlation between all these cases. Dozens of people disappearing in wild areas with this much similarity between events can't be a coincidence. The level of parity between all these cases is amazing, right down to what witnesses say and where people (or bodies) are found. But according to Paulides, this entire phenomenon is being ignored by law enforcement except in some highly unusual cases, which suggests that either someone somewhere knows what's going on, or it's being purposefully ignored. Either of those is a creepy thought. The books also mention how difficult it was to get any kind of information on these cases from the National Parks Service, which reinforces the theory that someone knows what's happening.

So, if we accept that this is happening, the obvious question is who or what is behind it. That's the question that fascinates me, and that I can't even begin to theorize on. Bigfoot is definitely a candidate, but the event locations really don't fit with the classic distribution of the sasquatch. The big clusters are in and around national parks, specifically Yosemite and Great Smoky Mountains. Yosemite could definitely house a small undetected hominid population, but the Great Smoky Mountains are much too far east to be what I'd consider Bigfoot territory. The Carolinas and Tennessee both seem to have more of an affinity for the skunk ape. So where does that leave us? There's a few possibilities. One is that it's somehow human activity. This one is both the most and least likely. On one hand, humans do some strange things, and a national park would be a good place for a criminal to hide. On the other though, you've got the areas in question and the state of what remains are found. Often it's just bone fragments. No man could reduce a body to a fine enough state that only long bones, teeth and skull pieces are ever found.

Dennis Martin, age six
The strangest of these cases, and the one that most suggests something strange going on to me is the disappearance of  Dennis Martin in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. On June 14, 1969, Dennis Martin was playing hide-and-seek with his family in an area known as Spence Field. He was last seen hiding behind some brush. Once the Martin family realized that Dennis was missing, they immediately went to the NPS for assistance in searching for him. Despite an extensive search spanning a period of months, no sign of Martin was ever found.

The disturbing twist to this case is what was reported by the Key family in a nearby area of the park, only hours after Dennis went missing. The Keys were hiking in a region of the park called Cades Cove, approximately six miles from Spence Field. They'd gone to this area hoping to see a bear, but what they actually saw was significantly more unusual. Harold Key, the father, reports hearing a bloodcurdling scream. His son then saw movement behind a bush. Key at the time believed it to be a bear, but later said it was in fact a man, apparently carrying something slung over his shoulder.

During the course of the search, Army special forces troops arrived in the park, ostensibly to assist in the search for Martin. However, Paulides later interviewed a Mr. Dwight McCarter, author of a book concerning missing persons in the Great Smoky Mountains, who claims that the Green Berets on-site communicated very little with NPS employees and civilian searchers. In addition, they were apparently armed. What could they be expecting?

In a final, morbid twist to the Martin case, the lead FBI agent, Jim Rike, later committed suicide. His reasons for this are unknown.

  1. From the incident report from the Park service regarding Dennis Martin

WFSC-TV Franklin, North Carolina notified the park that 500 Special Forces personnel from Ft. Bragg NC were on manuvers in the Nantahala Gorge area near Robbinsonville N.C. and would be an available source of Manpower.

What is so troubeling about a SF Unit in the same park training, in an adjoining state participating in the serach of a missing child?

This article makes it sound like they were flown in form Texas. Troops that are training generally are armed. Only a hand full 40 or so were requested. I would think that if there was really something strange and covert the entire 400 would have been sent. Please stop making conspiracies were none exists. The link to the incident report.

    1. You're wrong- over 100 Green Berets were sent in total.

  2. I think the child disappearing, along with the hundreds of others who have vanished or who have been found miles away from the point of disappearance (which includes 2 year olds who can barely walk across carpet)- is conspiracy enough, don't you think, woody? I suppose if anything, one could say "shouldn't the SOCOM guys found the child?"

Then again, I read both books, so maybe I'm bias.

  3. I first listened to both shows on Coast to Coast AM and then bought the books. I have two boys and I've taken them to Natl' Forests and have let them run around, prior to knowledge of all this. Now.... those boys never leave my sight. Read these books... listen to the shows on YouTube. To say it is spooky or unsettling just scratches the surphase of human emotion, as a father and just as a person who cares.

You'll never look at the woods the same, again.

  4. Woah woah woah, hold up! These are all wilderness areas, people *will* vanish and not be found. Being from a rural area myself (and with the local emergency services), I'm well aware of this. People can fall into rivers, get lost, fall off cliffs, run into wild animals..all sorts of things.

Sometimes disappearances *are* strange, but a lot of times are easily explained by 'guy didn't know what they were doing, died of exposure/eaten by bears/got lost.' Simple as that.

    1. Oh, I don't disagree with that assessment at all. I'm just saying that sometimes that doesn't quite cover it. I mean, there's one case in which the victim was an experienced bowhunter with a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and carrying a .44 Magnum. Went out hunting, was never seen again.

    2. You're statement is made out of ignorance. Read the books. Do the research on the cases in question. All of those things you said could happen to a person in the woods is true, they can most certainly happen, but until you read the details of the cases pertaining to David Paulides research you can't begin to know anything about this.

  5. One can tell, almost instantly, from a comment whether someone has in fact read these boroks,,or not. I thought the same thing as mentioned above. It's the wilderness. Crap happens. People do enter the wilderness,,,and sometimes don't come back. Either by choice, accident,Mother Nature, bears, etc etc. Ok,,after reading the books,,as of now, five months after reading the first, and three weeks ago finishing the third,,I am still numb. And majorly stunned.
We are not talking cases of weekend warrior types, playing Rambo and falling in a hole somewhere. We're not talking irresponsable parents, letting their kids run like wild goats, and getting themselves killed. No. The farthest thing you can possibly imagine from those scenarios,is what's going on.
To the above comment,no disrespect intended,,what so ever,,but I am from a rural area as well. I don't know about your location,it may in fact be common place,(although I truly hope not!!) but where I am residing,,a two year old child,,,does not willingly leave his parents side,,and travel over 12 miles in 19 hours, only to be found severely scratched, and a bit fussy, but other wise o.k. Where I'm living, lifelong hunters, that have traveled alone for decades, and are expert woodsmen and hunters, and even considered by all that know him a world class bear tracker, and trapper,,do not disappear,on a trip just like they've done hundreds of times, only to be found a couple weeks later, well,,just a very few pieces of bones, and the top of his skull,,oh,and some of his clothes missing, but pants, hat, hunting gear and bow still in the place he was last at,as if he either undressed by force,,or happened after the fact,,and all indications was that he was sitting on a bag of gear, calling moose, bow hunting, and was taken forcibly by surprise,,,,,and never had a chance.
I could go on,,but I won't. That's not the point. The point is,,,IF you actually read the book,,,,this is the farthest thing from "normal" happenstance, and average disappearances that can normally be explained,,or facts later found to identify with out a shadow of a doubt, the circumstances that led to someone's mistake,or bad luck,,or even inexperience in the wild. This is a whole different kind of monster, that more than probable has many faces, and many,,many names,,some we may not be able to even grasp at this time.
To anyone out there, who's never read these books,I would like to say something. Read the first one. If you can say for sure, that your positive you can explain in detail what is the causes/perpetrators of these obvious crimes against humans in remote areas around the country,,please,,by all means, let us know. Or better yet,,as David has suggested,,,please call the FBI,,because your thoughts and answers can save many lives. Thanks.

    1. Excellent answer Robbie. I was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains. I am well aware of people getting lost in the forests and have searched for them myself. So far having found them (knock on wood) But many of the cases in his books I cannot come up with a logical explanation no matter how hard I try. And I tried.Still trying to figure it out to be honest. Actually thinking of taking a few weeks vacation to the area of the Great Smokey Mountains National park just to poke around.

  8. We live on the northern calif. Coast. We have jungles here. One day the boys went out into the woods to a berry site for blackberries. They were picking berries & talking when a hugh thicket nearby started shaking. Scared them. Then a woman, short & chubby, wearing a red dress & HIGH HEELS stepped out of the thicket into the clearing. She looked at the boys & smiled. She walked over to them & said-" there used to be a path here that connected her house to her sisters house & would they know where that was?" He said her smile was so sinister that the frightened boys just said no & then ran home, & they came running in all upset & told me about it. Theres NO WAY a woman could walk out there in high heels looking for a trail thru those woods. I asked them if they'd heard her gradual approach before the thickets were shaking, they said no- it was dead silent out there prior to that. They said her smile was sinister & she didnot give off a friendly vibe yet she had a big smile pasted on her face. They still eont go pick berries out there & theyre 13 & 14 now...

Most recent man didnt want to be found and he is still missing. His family is still hoping for him to return home.

    1. Please do not comment until you have taken the time to research the evidence, data, reports, and investigations by Dave Paulides. He gives thorough reports and weeds out any instances of possible foul play, persons who are intentionally missing of their own free will, or cases outside of stringent criteria. The cases Mr. Paulides reports on are truly bizarre and inexplicable. Persons missing without a trace. So before you discount these as just another missing person lost in the woods, READ, READ, READ then form an educated hypothesis. To the families and those who have lost a loved one, I will not dismiss them as just another missing person lost in the woods. I am certain the last thing you think about before you go to sleep and the first thing you think about before you wake up is where are they. That's if you get any sleep. Along with you, I will not stop wondering where they are and what happened. I'll also never forget the two thru-hikers who went missing in 2012 hiking the Appalachian Trail the year I started, a man in Smoky Mountain NP and a woman in the 100-mile Wilderness of ME. There have to be answers. And I will take your advice . . . I won't let my 8yo son out of my sight when we're hiking, camping, skiing, fishing. Because I know I'm lucky to still have my son, I promise I won't take one minute for granted. My oldest son died to a rare genetic disorder. I know all too well that every day is a gift.

I have two friends in the FBI, one has more than 27 years in Law Enforcement, had been to wars, had investigated crimes all around USA, she is the sister of one of my best friends in USA. She read Paulides' books, she had been in many investigations in some of his cases and on other cases that he will possibly never read about it. She said that "till today the cases he wrote about in his books, the FBI has all files and they can't find a reasonable explanation! They are totally and confused". If you are smarter than all of them, Sherlock, why don't you go to the FBI and debunk Paulides' books?! Against facts there are no arguments. You should keep a humble spirit about such stories and circunstances. One day, you may experience the same tragedy -- and may God bless you, you shall not. You don't know the pain these families lived and will go on feeling.

  10. To all concerned,
I've read some incredibly uninformed and ignorant comments here and I feel it's my responsibility to help out when appropriate. My name is Max and I am a retired Army SOCOM Commander. Spent 26 years in service with most of them attached to 10th mountain division in Colorado. Our Special Forces are NEVER called to assist in civilian operations. That falls to the local National Guard and approved by the state governer . The fact that they were armed as well is another huge no no. During my command and every other mission I was aware of we were NOT allowed by Federal protocol to do either. Something is very wrong with this missing kid scenario.
I've done some research on this case both while on active duty and after my retirement. The inside facts of this case depict a frightening investigation. Bottom line is that searching started within a few minutes of the boy's disappearance and lasted three months with every resource imaginable being deployed. Don't even start with "the terrain was difficult, holes and caves and cliffs and creeks", etc. Our special troops can find almost anything, anytime and in ANY terrain. We have the highest technology available worldwide and easily the best training and real world wartime and mission specific experience that the normal civilian populace can scarcely imagine. After studying this case, the fact that NO TRACE of the boy was ever found is mind boggling.
The Green Berets that were tasked in this search were there for a specific reason. They were armed for a specific reason. I can't and won't say why because my oath documents won't allow it. But I will remind you of these facts. Nationwide there have only been four occasions where the special forces were brought in on a civilian missing persons case. Two of these involved a possible armed perpetrator. The other two were this case and another similar to it about three years later and regionally nearby. This is out of thousands of missing cases since the early sixties when our special troops were born. There is no such thing as "well, they were training nearby anyway and....", nope, we as Commanders were NEVER allowed to divert orders unless the division general officer (at least a one star) within SOCOM approved it. For that to happen, it MUST be for reasons that have a DIRECT effect on our national security. No missing persons case has ever been on that level ever based on it's own merit. My research proved that to my own eyes.
In conclusion, this case goes way beyond a simple missing boy. Let me put it this way to you skeptics out there. In 1969 (same year as this case) in the southern jungles of Cambodia we lost a man on team maneuvers one night. This was in some of the worst weather and impossible terrain known in this world. His tracks were instantly washed away and nighttime operations were notoriously difficult as a rule. After a weeks time, it was our dogs that finally tracked him down. They live for these missions and they love it. In the Martin case, the dogs just laid down whining and refused to search. Several sets of dogs of different breeds. The FBI second in command told me this in person. That fact alone promotes the high strangeness factor. These cases are far from normal and must be reinvestigated to ensure that the horror that this family went through never happens to anyone again.
When it's YOUR child that slips off for just a minute and the panic sets in and assets are immediately deployed in great mass, you would expect to find the child pretty quick. But when they just flat disappear like smoke as in this case, it baffles even the most experienced of us and breaks our hearts as well. I hope this hideous event never happens to any of you for I have seen it many times firsthand and you just cannot imagine anything worse, God bless and thanks for reading.

    2. @lanza130 - You obviously have not read the books or heard any of Mr. Paulides' interviews because you would know that the dogs refused to track. Tracking dogs never refuse to track unless there's something truly strange happening.

Had it been just a man grabbing the boy and running down the mountain to then put the child in the car, someone would have seen him and the dogs would have tracked it. The parents would have possibly heard the car door, and the man would have had trouble carrying him all that way.

    5. My advise: read the books. Second: go to the area where Dennis Martin vanished, try to abduct a child there, in the middle of nowhere, and try to reach the next road, miles, and miles away, difficult terrain, high in the mountains, hiking through the most hard areas to walk, run, etc. And with a child on your shoulders! Film everything and show in YT, please. And if you have success on this mission, the Book of Records must give you the price of the "Best Abducter of the Galaxy". You will deserve it. On the other hand, if you don't have the courage to do it after discovering where this family was, please, ask the prize of "the biggest idiot of the galaxy". Because this one you truly deserve it!

  13. Thank you for your service to our Country. I too served in the armed forces and I can appreciate where you're coming from. I agree 100% that there is indeed a "high strangeness factor" in this case and many others like it. After researching many cases of strange disappearances in rural areas of our country and others, I believe we are dealing with something we don't fully understand and outside the bounds of rational thought. We are only visitors in National parks, National forests, wilderness areas, etc. and we are un-initiated and ignorant of possible life forms who call these vast areas their home. I believe the government (at high levels) has an idea of what we are dealing with. They chose (probably wisely) not to disclose this information to the general public. That's my take on this. God bless and thank you again for your service.

  14. Are you kidding?! Of course it happens in Parks! They are desolate! People that are shying away from the public, or looking to abduct someone WOULD go there! As far as the bone fragments, I am a biology major, and I can tell you that this is NORMAL! Decomposition takes place rapidly, due to the body being exposed to the elements and hungry animals. Then then bones are walked on constantly by hooved animals and probably people that dont notice them! As far as a cover up, well I am quite sure the parks services dont want to draw attention to such things and create a panic, not to mention, no more visitors= no more money for park upkeep! I dont EVEN want to bring up the ridiculous bigfoot issue, but I will pose this question to you...if there are these bigfoot creatures, why has NO ONE...EVER, recovered a carcass??? EVER!!! Unless bigfoot is a self-cleaning mutant!

    1. The tracking dogs would have noticed the bone fragments. The enormous amount of people looking for the boy or his remains would have noticed them. If you read the books, you'll find out that in most cases the area is completely searched - every square inch of it. Then months or years later, just a piece or two of the missing person is found, or their clothing is found. And whatever is found is in pristine condition - not weathered by the scenario that you are presenting.

As for your question about the Sasquatch people, they have been found. Some are in the Smithsonian's basement. Many were documented in old news articles that you can still find on the internet as well. Some have been found more recently - in the last couple of years - but the reporting quickly diverts away from the size of the remains and the stories are not mentioned again.

Also, they bury their dead. They are either a relic hominid like Neanderthal, or they are an undiscovered branch of the bush similar to Denisovans and the other recent discoveries. All of those peoples had religion, culture, family groups, and burial practices. They were human, no matter what certain scientists say; the same scientists who have to keep admitting that what they thought they knew about our evolution is wrong, due to all of the new types of humans being found.

Even if the Sasquatch people didn't bury their dead, as a biology major you must not go into the woods often or you'd know that you don't see bear, puma, deer, or even raccoon and squirrel carcasses and bones scattered all about the leaf litter.

  22. One of the places demons love to inhabit are wilderness areas and places with mountains, creepy terrains, rivers, huge trees that are thousands of years old.Well, judging from what happens in my part of the world, that kid's dissappearance has everything to do with supernatural forces, wicked spirit forces or evil spirits residing in that park. The boy may have trespassed a boundary, the demons set and so, they took him.For dogs to refuse to search, that tells you, that that particular spot or area where the dogs are refusing to search could be the very centre of demonic activity.Because it exist in the spirits, mortals wont know and would just wander anywhere they like. But the demons know. The forces simply control the dogs by making them docile and uncooperative. When domestic animals sturbbornly refuse to carry out orders they normally do with glee, you can tell it is happening because there are supernatural spirit forces around that vacinity influecing them to do otherwise or even outrightly blocking them from doing so.Read your Bible for the story of Balaam.Balaam was hired to put a curse on the isrealite by a medianite king. But each time, he tried to curse the isrealite, God turned the curse into a blessing. After sometime had passed, i think he tried one last time to put a curse on the isrealite. To achieve his goal, he saddled his horse and headed toward a point where he would pronounce a curse on the isrealite. But something supernatural happened.Something most people today would call strange happened. While on the way,the horse suddenly stopped and refused to move.In fact the horse, knelt down.Balaam was furious. It was an urgent mission for balaam, yet this animal was refusing to move.He started flogging the horse severely but despite all of balaam attempts by floggings, the horse was adamant, it refused to rise up and continue the journey. But what balaam did not know, was that he had been intercepted by God's Angel,a spirit entity who was sent to either thwart balaam plans to curse the isrealite or kill him at most if he pushed ahead sturrbonly.Balaam didnt see the Angel and his sword, but the horse did.Eventually God's angel made the horse or donkey, to speak to balaam, asking balaam why he was been cruel by beating it violently. The horse also asked balaam if it had ever disobeyed him before? In the end,God's Angel revealed himself to balaam and informed him that if it was not for the wise action of the horse,in refusing to continue the journey, that balaam would have been struck dead, in his determination to put a curse on the isrealite. So what does this bible account shows? 1.that animals can see supernatural things which mere humans cant.2.they can be compelled to act on their own or refuse not to act at all.3.that spirit forces exist, and have power to influences the behavior of animals.4.that spirits can reveal themselves to humans if they choose to.5.that the spirits can also blind humans in a spiritual way from seeing evidence they are supposed to see.Demons have a way of making human see what the demons want them to see.Hence in this case of the missing boy,it is obvious the police where not seeing what the dogs were seeing, because as humans we can not see spirits.sometimes people with occultic power, carry out crimes and rely on demonic forces who they ultimately work for to cover up their tracks, by blinding the eyes of humans not to see anything connected to the crime even when the evidence is right there in their presence. In nigeria, people are kidnapped in buses and taken deep inside forests, where they are slaughered like pigs for their body parts everyday in all 37states of the country, by various murderous gangs. Some victims sometimes manage to escape but ultimately find it difficult to trace the hideout even when they are confident they know the location.the demons ensure they cant identity the building or location even when they are standing in front of it.

I currently am 78 miles short of having hiked all 900 miles of trails in the Great Smokies and have done around 50 miles off trail. I don't know if it was someone that was just out hiking and saw the opportunity and took it or if it was by one of the men that live in the park and surrounding National Forest.( More on this later) An adult male that was used to hiking in the southern Appalachian mountains wouldn't have any trouble getting from Spence field to the cades cove area in 2 hours(3 m.p.h. average) possibly faster if you knew the terrain and could go off trail. The boy being carried combined with heavy rain would account for the dog's just laying down as the scent trail wouldn't be strong enough.N ow if the abductor is parked at cades cove he simply stays in the woods off trail until dark then carries the boy to his vehicle and drives off. If it is one of the men living in the park it is even easier. Most people think of Cades Cove as a tourist area, bumper to bumper traffic and day hikers everywhere. However when you look at this area on a map you will quickly realize that the area to the southwest is some extremely remote country. As for the green berets, I have run into Special forces training in the Nanthahala national Forest myself. They were unarmed. The were walking fairly popular trails with a point man that would try to identify oncoming hikers and signal the rest of the unit who would slip into the woods off the trail and hide. Exactly what you would want to do if you were doing a covert operation in a hostile environment. The woman that was in frontof our group was a former Marine, she spotted the point man and opened fire on him with her walking stick. The point man was killed but all of our group died when the rest of his unit opened fire with their walking sticks. In our defense we were caught off guard as we had no idea a game of cowboys and Indians was going to break out among 10 adults meeting on a hiking trail. I am a hillbilly through and through, born and raised in East Tennessee by families that came to the area with Daniel Boone. I am going to have to have more than one person tell me that these green berets were armed. I love my people in Appalachia but many of us can see some green berets standing around and one local cop in military fatigues with a sidearm and as soon as they get to the nearest store it becomes "green berets have taken over up there! Armed to the teeth and ready for war!" Now for the men that live in the park and surrounding areas. They are out there, most suffering from mental illnesses or trying to avoid jail for minor offenses. The Appalachian trail gives them basically a highway to move between remote areas and fish and hunt. I have run into a couple and they will creep you out. They will live under rocks, in caves or abandoned mines. Anywhere that gives a little protection from the weather.

    1. There are a lot of reasons why that scenario doesn't hold up.
First and foremost is the issue with tracking dogs. There is no reason why tracking dogs should be unable to pick up the scent of someone who has been living rough on the trail for months.

Other problems include: victims are not always small, easy to cary children. Sometimes they are large, well built, highly athletic outdoorsmen and hunters, armed to the teeth and knowing the property they are on like the back of their hands. These are people who do not shy from conflict, and yet they are discovered deceased "fr.??d##7

  25. I was referring to the little boy that went missing. The dogs were not looking for an abductors trail. It would be easy for the dog's to lose his trail with all of the volunteers that were around combined with heavy rains. Adults??? Who knows. There are sinkholes, caves and abandoned mines and test pits that they could fall in. But dogs should be able to track them.

    1. In one case, 600 hundred dogs were used. All of them acted very, very strange and didn't track. You tell me now: is this a little coincidence?

  27. I live in Germany. These bizarre "disappearances" are happening here too as well as in Switzerland. But I need to tell you something that happened to me. Around two years ago, I had a strange dream. I came to this pub or restaurant by a port, in a place I have never seen or visited before. I sat by a table and suddenly came this guy, sat on the table too and started telling me that "somebody had took him and killed him..." and had done this and that with him... I could not understand why he was telling me that, I didn't know who he was... he was talking in German, but with a Swiss accent. Our table was nearby a window and from that window I could see the lake and the boats anchored there. The place looked really, really nice. The view outside was gorgeous! I was so scared with his story, he said to tell his family he was murdered... I woke up... this dream happened short before Christmas. I forgot about the dream and didn't say a word to anybody (not even to my husband). I could remember the guy very well, all details of his blue eyes, long hair, clothes... So time passed... one day, after listening to one of David Paulides' interview, I decided to visit the page of the police in Germany. To check if something like that was happening here still. I ended up in the page of Switzerland. (I must say it had been more than six months I had visited that page, in fact I had totally forgotten it and at home we don't watch TV at all -- and it's been so for more than 4 years now!). While I was visiting the Swiss page on missing people, I came across many strange, bizarre disappearances... I started looking for each one in Internet, trying to find similar details as Paulides' describes in his books, newspapers, internet pages, facebook, etc. One case called my attention. I put the name of the victim and checked for more infos. In the Swiss page, his picture was blurry hiding his features and said he was 'found deceased". I was curious. I know Switzerland, I know very well that people are not killed there on a daily baisis like in USA or Africa. So, when I wrote his name in the google, I found a site with an article about this man's case. You cannot imagine my shock, fear and horror to find out that the man mentioned in the police site around December 2015 was the same who showed up in my dream!!! I was speechless. My emotions are difficult to explain here... his eyes, those blue eyes, his long hair, his clothes and worst of all: the picture was taken in the same place my dream took place, same table, window, the boats outside... I can't explain it. It's hard to talk to people about this. I didn't dare to tell even my husband but I told the story to a close friend who believes in "paranormal" stuff. He was amazed! I tried to forget all about it, but I can't. I read all about his case, and till today people don't know what really happened to that man -- he was a musician. Strange enough, I play cello, he used to play the drums. I have been to Switzerland many times but never to the place where he took that picture. I know his city, Basel. I have many pics from there too. But I know very well the place he took that picture is completely unknown to me. His family keeps his Facebook page active. However I don't have the courage to tell them about my dream. All I know is that he left a wife and a baby. (His body was found days later in a forest. Too far away from the place he was: in the city of Basel, right in the central area, street-cams showed him walking by, going back home after a concert with friends. One of the most bizarre cases in Europe for me). I don't watch TV, I don't read newspapers. I didn't know that man was missing. Why would he come to my dreams to tell me "they had taken me", "they killed me", "tell my family", etc... I never knew him, never heard of him before... many cases of people vanishing all around Germany, police talk about 65.000 cases per year. Just imagine.

  30. The more I look at this sad event, the more I think he was taken, but not by another human.
The GB’s were there but no report on who called them in. There is no evidence that they were called in by a park ranger. There is some evidence to suggest a District Park official contacted the army.
The governor of Tennessee at that time was a general in the Tennessee NG. I saw a photo of him standing next to a Special Forces GB Colonel named Kinney who was involved in the GB search. Kinney has since died and is buried in Arlington if I recall.
A FOIA request to the army on the GB search has never been answered. That’s not strange in itself because most of what they do is highly classified.
What is strange is why were they there and why there was no scent of Martin for the dogs to follow? Are these two things connected? Posdibly.
If the GB’s were there because of knowledge that the disappearance was one involving national security...you would never hear about it. That’s the job of GB’s.
Did the us Army intel know of something at that ridge that was happening or happened that day that coincides with Martins disappearance? Possible. Is this why they were there?
The lack of a scent even in spite of the rains is disturbing. It suggests something more.

  33. Paulides is a fraud. A hack who deliberately omits details, shoehorns others to fit the scenario he tries to paint.
I hear "do your research" all the time, yet no-one does it on him..
Suckers, you don't know if GB's were deployed or not. Everyone lists "facts" about the case, without knowing if said "facts" are true or not.
This story just keeps taking a life of it's own. Paulides sensationalist style doesn't help matters either.
